As various media players jockey for position to become your default setting for music and video streams, GOM Media Player's support for a wide range of file formats has helped it stand out as a firm favorite.
Supported formats include DAT, MPEG, DivX, XviD, WMV, ASF, AVI, and MOV, as are common codecs like FLV1, AC3, OGG, MP4, and H263. A pop-out playlist can save and organize your various media files, though the limited sort modes--two--hardly makes it a champ.
More impressive are the customizable settings on the control panel. Here you can adjust a video's image brightness, hue, and saturation. There's no preview window, and changes occur as the video runs, so unless you care for a rousing session of trial and error, be sure to tweak the settings after clicking "play." There's also a built-in screen-capture feature that includes zooming and panning, customizable themes, hot keys, and a host of preset and adjustable audio controls.
GOM is weakest when you're looking for help documentation and trying to tweak Save settings, but overall it's a very strong player worth at least a supporting role in your video-watching habits, if not the lead.

"Superb software."
Pros: Reliable software with lots of fun skins to choose from. It's played everything I've ever given it.
Cons: The quality of the picture is second to VLC in my opinion. However, GOM is more reliable these days.
Summary: GOM is without a doubt one of the top players. I've been using it for about a year and have never had a problem with it.

"Quite Simply, Intelligence Personified, a true Delight"
Pros: Used by virtually all S. Koreans, it plays virtually every format and has so many hidden and valuable options that a year later, I am still discovering the beauty of its built in intelligence.
Cons: I honestly have not been able to think of any frustrations I have gone through with GOM player. If space permitted, I could have gone on and on with other features the developers built in. No player matches it.
Summary: I guess I said it all pretty well under the section called Pros. I have been through the various players and all I will say is that a true lover of films of ALL genres virtually, GOM is the SINGLE player that in my mind I would have designed for those who love film. I urge everyone to try it out to enhance your enjoyment of cinema. It is a foreign movie watchers dream, with incredible attention paid to subtitles--both their synchronization, size/font parameters and placement on the screen. Parameters of brightness, contrast, etc. can be controlled. AAA+

"Took out my IE"
Pros: absolutely NOTHING
Cons: 1st of all When I downloaded and installed it; Like most it offewrs things lik Ask Toolbar etc. I took out the checks but it still in
Summary: again I lost Internet Explorer it would not show up anywhere I mean anywhere. I had to put my PC back to factory settngs and lost everything

Pros: Well So FAr It Is Just As Good At Playing My Video Libery(6.3 TB's) Without Crashing Unlike WMP,Itunes And Winamp
